What is a Guard Tour Reporting System?
Why do I need one?

BENEFITS OF USING A GUARD TOUR SYSTEM

w Standardize the documentation of patrol activity

  • The standardization of documentation wil increase your productivity and make training easier since you only have one system to learn.

w To provide "Proof of Presence" by security personnel who patrol property.

  • The "Presence" of security personnel is important to:
    • Visitors and Guests at the property who expect a safe environment.
    • Employees and contractors/vendors at the property who expect a safe environment.
    • Asset Managers who expect the protection of company property.
    • Company Executives hoping to create a justified perspective that the property is "safe & secure".
w Increased Accountability
  • Track movement of security personnel
  • Ensure that all checkpoints are visited
  • Summary reporting available for Risk Management oversight
  • Threats to safety are reduced by comprehensive patrolling

w Increased Productivity and Accuracy
  • System keeps the officers "moving",covering more areas in less time.
  • Clerical errors are eliminated by fully electronic data collection and reporting.
  • Handwritten log sheets and manual data entry are reduced/eliminated, saving hours each day.
  • Decrease property theft by more comprehensive patrolling.
w Liability Mitigation
  • Protect against law suites with the GTS's audit trail and historical reports that "prove presence".
  • Defend against liability for on-site injury with GTS's recording and tracking of incidents and events.
  • Safeguard against insurance liability coverage increases with sound policies and procedures that reduce the rate of claims.
  • Reduce unemployment insurance premiums with an "objective officer performance record" that justified any terminations.

A STATE OF THE ART GUARD TOUR SYSTEM IS COMPRISED OF:

  • An electronics handheld recording device carried by the patrolling officers. This device should be able to connect to local and remote downloaders. The handheld should be water resistant, rugged in design and use a user changeable battery.
  • Checkpoint "ID Tags" that are mounted throughout/on the property. The ID Tags should be long lasting and reliable in design. They should be secure against copying and not allow for duplicates to be made.
  • PC-based software for receiving, sorting, reporting and storing of the data captured by patrolling security officers. The software should be networkable, easily scale to meet you current and future needs. The system should be configurable and allow you to modify and create custom reports to meet your needs.
